My heart crushed by the weight of these sands of time.
What did I do but held on to what I thought was mine?
Please tell me, no further can I go, tell me what did I do?
How is it I changed my life to please you, yet, I lost you?

Gave my all, kept it precious and true, you'd let it wither away. 
Waited so long for you, now within my heart, you just won't stay.

How can we now after all that we've shared, now just be friends?
How can I step down while blindly forgetting where we'ed begin?
